A Transformational Relationship with Jesus starts with Trust.
- Like any other relationship, if we want to have a relationship with Jesus, we must choose to trust that He was who He said He was, the Son of God, who has the power to forgive our sins and transform us from the inside out because of His death on the Cross and Resurrection.
(John, 11:25, Romans 12:9)
Transformation doesn’t depend on you.
- Jesus said that the old way of trying to earn our way to God was finished. We can’t do anything to make God love us more, and we can’t undo or do anything to hinder God’s love for us because His love never ends.
(John 19:30, Ephesians 2:4-7)
Your new life is a series of Next Steps.
- Following Jesus is about taking your next step. New life happens immediately when we place our trust in Jesus, but transformation is a lifelong journey. Jesus has given you a new life, a true life, and our new identities are revealed over time. God isn’t surprised when you mess up. He knows you will, and that’s why He’s saved you! God has given us the Holy Spirit to walk with us and guide us as we take our next steps.
(John 14:15-17, Philippians 1:6)

What is ALPHA?
The Alpha course meets once a week for 10 weeks. Each evening begins with a dinner followed by a short talk that looks at a different aspect of the Christian faith. This is followed by discussion in a small group setting where everyone is welcome to dialogue and ask questions. The talks are designed to encourage debate and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, honest and informal environment. Frequently asked questions are: Is there a God? Why am I here? What about other religions? What is my purpose?
Who is ALPHA for?
Alpha is for anyone. People attend from all backgrounds, religions, and viewpoints. Participants come to investigate questions about the existence of God, the purpose of life, the afterlife, the claims of Jesus. Some people want to get beyond religion and find a relationship with God that really changes life. Others come for the close, long-lasting friendships that are built during the Alpha course. Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith or simply aren’t able to articulate why they believe what they believe. Everyone is welcome.
How much will ALPHA cost?
There is no charge for attending the Alpha course. A donation of $5 for dinner is requested to help cover the cost for the meal.
What is discussed?
Over the 10 weeks of the Alpha, participants explore the following topics and more:
Who is Jesus?
Why did Jesus die?
How can we have faith?
Why and how do I pray?
Why and how should I read the Bible?
How does God guide us?
We run Alpha twice a year in the Fall and Spring. Sign-ups for our Fall Session will open on September 17.
